There comes a point in every relationship when someone does the unthinkable...they fart. If you are already grossed out by that idea please stop reading now.
Early in my current relationship I began the wonderful (sarcasm) phenomenon of passing gas in my sleep. Gross right?
Yeah well, leave it to my lovely boyfriend to start pointing this out. I would wake up to him cracking up laughing at me.
I really think I was doing it in my sleep because I was so on edge about ever doing it awake.
My ex was one of the guys who thought girls never had any bodily functions. We never went to the bathroom, sweated or burped. So I got used to never doing any of those things or mentioning them.
My question is...should you ever be comfortable doing the unmentionable in front of your significant other? Is it a true sign of comfort or is it just nasty and a sign of laziness?
It is by no means lazy. I'm a girl that believes most men think women don't pass gas, poop, burp, etc. like you're boyfriend. But, I've been in a relationship for the past year and we are beyond the point of caring about things like that. I'm gonna vote that it's a true sign of comfort.
ReplyDeleteI think there's a middle ground. If someone in the relationship is... passing gas, burping, etc. ALL THE TIME, then that just seems a little rude. lol. But if it's every now & then (b/c, dang it, sometimes you just can't help it!) I think that's alright. :D
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a laid back guy. You should feel comfortable when you're around someone who is that important to you and it sounds like he is allowing you to be yourself. :D
My mom said she didn't let my dad know she farted (or even pooped) until 5 years into the relationship...2 of those years were marriage LOL. I come from a more realistic approach... Whenever you both feel comfortable... If pass a lil toot and the look on his face is one of horror and disgust then don't sweat it, invest in a bulk supply of gasX and beano!
