I went out last night, and as I ordered my calorie loaded Red Bull and Vodka, the girl next to me orders a Vodka soda.
Actually, I have no idea how many calories are in a red Bull & vodka...I don't pay attention to calories at all. I figure the less I know, the better.
So this girl gets her drink and pulls out this tiny packet of powder and starts pouring it in her glass.
My first reaction was "what kind of drug is this girl on..." but i decided to ask her what the mystery substance was.
It was crystal light!
This girl is smuggling low-calorie drink flavoring into the bar to stick to her diet plan.
She claimed the concoction was delicious, which I don't doubt. But I can't imagine having that kind of dedication!
Do you guys have any drinks you order because you think they are more weight friendly?
I know that vodka tonics have more calories than vodka sodas...or is it the other way around?
idk about this one. was she doing this because she likes the taste or because she was calorie counting? crystal light in her drink to cut the calories? why not just skip the drink?
ReplyDeleteWhat?!?! There's calories in vodka?? Who knew!? LOL jk.. Actually, I believe I once read that there's 64 calories in one shot of vodka...You do the math. Yikes! Not a bad idea to keep it "light"!
ReplyDeletei order rum and diet coke. drinks with a liquor and a diet mixer (i.e., diet coke, tonic water, diet sprite, etc.) are the "most healthy" drinks.
ReplyDeletestay away from margaritas - there are on average, 700 calories per drink!
Vodka tonic has more calories than vodka soda. This is a GREAT idea in my opinion. I always think about the fact that when I get an alcoholic drink there are actually a lot of calories. I used to always get vodka tonics, now I get Michalob Ultra and I'm thinking about going for Bud with only 55 calories. But, this Crystal light idea is AWESOME.
